The HDC series isn’t just some off the shelf woofer designed in the virtual world.  It is the product of over two years and hundreds of hours of real world research and development. Many of the HDC’s features are only found on woofers costing twice the price. When compared to our competition the HDC series woofers have more cooling, more throw, more motor force, and stronger cones. These woofers work great in everyday street beating or all out gut wrenching SPL builds. We have spared no expense to give you the best subwoofer value on the market today.

HDC Coils

The HDC comes with your choice of three different high performance voice coils. For the street beaters we offer a four layer, round wound, dual 1ohm or dual 2ohm copper coil. If you’re in need of a straight SPL woofer we offer an 8 layer, flat wound, dual 1ohm Aluminum coil. To increase our coils’ thermal handling we use the highest temperature adhesives available to us.

Suspension systems are generally a weak link in a woofer design, and often the primary reason for woofer failure. Over time, especially in high power applications, suspension begins to sag and as a consequence it can no longer control the voice coil’s movement. This generally results in a torn suspension or smashed voice coil.  To avoid this we use a multiple spider configuration engineered to maintain rigidity over extended periods of heavy use. We also hand glue our triple joints to allow for better glue penetration and saturation of the high stress areas.

High excursion subwoofers require a lead wire system that doesn’t flop all over the place or break. We use the direct connect system (no terminals) because it works the best. With our direct connect system you get no annoying lead slap noise, no rips or holes burnt in the spiders, and no flimsy lead-in wires.

Note: Parameters taken of random single sampling of NIB subwoofers with no pre-break-in. Parameters for 8-layer flat wound aluminum voice coils only. No multiple samples averaged.

We recommend to allow at least several weeks of playing time to break in SQ Woofers, full break in may take many months. DO NOT play subwoofers at max amplifier power in the first couple of days, give the suspensions a chance to loosen up. As the suspension breaks in, the subs will play lower and louder.

Aluminum coil versions are made as ordered, Allow 5-7 working days for build time.

Rating Crazy Sub
I've used a single 15 in my Intrepid to win back to back National Titles in Midwestspl and currently hold the record in my class (almost 2dbs louder than the closest competitor). When set up right this is a seriously nasty subwoofer. I will be running AQ exclusively for the third year in a row!!
