Not happy, at all
I bought these based on the rave reviews, and honestly I'm very very unimpressed. When I first got these (and my Pro Audio 6.5's) installed, I immediately noticed a rattling coming from the left tweeter. It blew out that same day. Called SQ customer service, and was told I should take it apart and fix it myself, that I'd just be wasting everybody's time to send it in for replacement.
I know my measely $1,000.00 system is a drop in the bucket to SQ, but I bought absolutely EVERYTHING SQ this round except wiring and head unit. And this is how their customer service is? I'm going to be unhooking both sets, throwing away the Pro Audio's, and going with a competitors component speakers for up front instead. Sadly I still have to keep the super tweeters physically installed because the only way they would fit was cutting a hole in my doors.
They look phenominal. They weigh a good chunk each too being tweeters. When they WERE working, sound quality wise I was unimpressed, they were very harsh and hissy, not at all what I was expecting from a "Pro Audio" set of speakers. The 6.5's sound great for what they are, but these tweeters were not a good match in my opinion. The SQ Coaxials I have in the rear sound amazing.
If it weren't for SQ's response of "take it apart and fix it yourself", then I would have waited for both to be functional for a review. But considering I'm not going to bother myself to "fix it myself" when its obviously blown, and was that way from unboxing it, I guess my initial impressions should be enough. I definitely will not be buying any SQ speakers again in the future. Subs and amps, sure, but even then the subs I might skip out on too with this kind of response from the company.
